Connecting kids with solar power

kubus-takelen.jpgAmersfoort May 8, 2013. The solar panels have been installed at primary school the Kubus, our first Dutch SolarSchool. Co-workers of Eneco Installation Company placed 60 solar panels, covering the roof.

For planning the work the May holidays were chosen, to minimize the impact on the lessons. The project implied not only working on the roof, but also inside the building several activities took place. The inverter got it's position in the hall, next to the meter.

The system will be transferred to the ownership of the school itself. It has been paid by the Cooperative Sun@School. During 23 years, the school will reimburse this purchase with an annual energy savings caused by the solar panels.

With a deposit of 5000 euros, PicoSol is one of the members of the Cooperative. The annual payment will be used to pay maintenance of the SolarSchools project in Cambodia.
