Connecting kids with solar power

Rose and Tom chat with Kim and Tra from Cambodia ...

SolarSchools is a new education curriculum for primary schools. Children from the Netherlands come so close to the world of peers in developing countries, they can almost smell each other. Children from a different culture, a different language, a different standard of living, a different time zone, a different writing, in short: Children from a different world.

Solar energy and social media are the ingredients of this curriculum. Solar energy makes it possible to equip computer classrooms at schools far away from the city, far away from the public grids and other infrastructure. Internet and social media bring together the fascinating lifes of Tra and Kim, living among the ricefields, and of Rose and Tom, living in a working class quarter.
